A Coral Dream is a conceptual animated short film that showcases a possible image of what a future might look like if there are no efforts made to conserve the coral reefs.
Maldives is home to the 7th largest coral reef system in the world. Scientists predict that more than 90% of the world's coral reefs will die by 2050.
A Coral Dream is inspired by this unfortunate prediction.
Aims & Goals
Awareness
Show a possible image of what a future might look like if there are no efforts made to conserve the coral reefs.
Mindset
To change the thinking, to be more responsible and environmentally conscious. To acknowledge that the consequences of coral bleaching would have a negative long term impact on the lifestyle and traditions of the locals.
Contribution
To contribute in raising awareness in order to create a unified effort to minimise human impacts on the corals and to conserve the coral reefs before it’s too late.
The idea behind the name
The line symbolises the non-existence of the coral reefs in the time-period of the story.
The story is set in a world where even the idea of seeing a healthy coral is fictional and thereby something to only dream about.
